| All Projects will be implemented once we are established as a non-profit. Service Projects #1 SPA la la la Join us once a month for an evening of pampering, relaxation & fun time. You will be able to experience BeautiControls� fabulous spa and skin care products and learn more about living a healthy stress free life. All products used during the spa will be available for purchase after each spa. 10% of all sales will be donated to one or more of the following organizations: Midsouth Equality Hope House WHO Foundation Friends For Life MGLCC Service Projects #2 Excel Excel will challenge girls & boys 13 to 17 in the Mid-South area to excel in the sciences and mathematics. We know that science and mathematics courses are the gatekeepers to the pursuit of careers in some of the highest salaried jobs such as pharmacy, medicine, law, engineering, and computer technology. Excel will help build the confidence and self-esteem of young girls & boys and encourage them to take advanced math and science courses, and do well in them. In addition, the program will engage the youth in cultural enrichment activities. Service Projects #3 Financial Liberty TBA Service Projects #4 Women�s Health Resource Center The specific objectives & purpose of this service project is to improve the health of lesbian women in the mid-south and surrounding communities through effective grant-making in health care, health education and health research. By participating in the arena of general community needs and problem solving, we�ll strive to serve the health care needs of vulnerable and underserved Memphians of all ethnic origins and sexual orientation. Our goals shall be: ~ Maintain a women�s health resource library open to the public containing books, articles and other materials related to women�s health issues. ~ Maintain a physicians referral listing containing patient evaluations of physicians practicing in the community. ~ Sponsor seminars and workshops open to the general public where ideas, opinions, and writings relating to women�s health issues and health concerns may be expressed and shared with others. ~ Publish a monthly newsletter containing articles informative of women�s health issues. ~ Engage in other activities related to educating the public concerning women�s health issues and health concerns. ~ Educate medical and health care professionals in the area of cultural competency with regards to lesbian health. |
