There are many genres of film that are viewed as controversial, either involving or focusing on some aspect of race, sexuality, religion, or violence. While movie makers are trying to appeal to varied audiences and maturity levels, society is hesitant in distinguishing between what is appropriate and what is disturbing. Our group decided to emphasize specific films in order to determine what makes these issues controversial from a cultural perspective.
