Introduction ~ Part 1

Searching for New Beginnings

Are you searching for a spiritual path to call your own? Is the Goddess calling your name? Do the whispering trees speak to you? Do you delight in the gifts that Nature has to offer? Have you recently had the feeling that, upon discovering Nature-oriented religion, you have finally found a place to call home?

If you answered YES to any of the above questions, then the world of Wicca may be just what you have been searching for. I say "may" because as of yet, you are only considered a curious seeker...Someone who "thinks" that this is the life for you.

Before I go any further, allow me to welcome you to The Witch's Study Buddy. The World of the Craft and Wiccan practices are a beautiful source of spirituality, with much to offer. It is also a very long road through the path of discovery and knowledge, and can not be learned over-night.

I won't try to kid you. It takes a great amount of self-discipline and dedication to learn the ways of the Witch. The amount of information that can be had by your studies can and will be overwhelming at times. You need to look deep within yourself and make your own decision about whether or not you feel you are ready, or even have the time, for such an undertaking.

My personal feeling is that if you do not feel the pull to this path in a strong way, then you may as well turn back now. Unless you know for sure that this is what you want, you aren't going to last long anyway. I say this as a truth that simply exists. Many individuals begin their journey only to discover that there is a lot of work involved. It is also a way of life that is only beneficial to those who live it. If you don't feel it in your heart and make it a part of your daily life, then you are just wasting precious time...both yours and mine.

Let's face it, anyone can say that they are part of any particular religion. But what is religion, really? According to Riverside Webster's II Dictionary, 1996 rev. ed., religion is defined as the following:

"religion (ri-lij'en) n. 1.a. Belief in and reverance for a supernatural power accepted as the creator and governer of the universe. b. A personal or institutionalized system grounded in such belief. 2. A belief, activity, or cause pursued with ferver and devotion. syns: CREED, DENOMINATION, FAITH, PERSUASION, SECT"

In other words, if you don't believe in it deep down in the very core of your being, and you are not devoted to it with every ounce of energy that you hold, then why bother pursuing it?

I know that there are those out there who think, "Too cool! WITCHCRAFT!" Then there are those who say to themselves "Spells...hmmmmm...I wonder if I can turn my old boyfriend into a toad." And, of course, we can't forget the one's who think that the path is all about a power trip, "I'll have everything I ever wanted...money, control, health, beauty..." If you find that any of these reason's are attractive to you, then visit the F.A.Q. page. If, afterwards, these thoughts are still appealing to you, stop right now, turn around, and please, I beg of you...NEVER LOOK BACK! You are only asking for trouble, and you will never find any true Witch to help you. And a dishonest person is only going to put you in harms way.

I don't share any of this to discourage anyone from beginning their journey, for this path is open to all who seek it within their hearts. I only wish to make it clear that if your intentions are not sincere, honest, and of good intentions, you will find nothing to benefit you here in A Witch's World.

Please take some time to do a bit of soul searching before continuing on with this program. Take a few days, a week, even a month, what ever it takes. Think about what you really want out of life, and what you hope to gain by continuing on with the Path of the Craft. And while you're at it, ask yourself the following questions:

1. Do I believe in the God and Goddess?
2. Do I have the time to devote to my studies?
3. What do I hope to gain from this journey?

The answers to these questions can only be found within yourself. Only through your heart and inner-spirit will the truth be known. Listen to the voice deep within yourself, for it is that very voice that guide's you in life.

If, and when, you decide to return and continue on, know that the Lord & Lady will welcome you with open arms, and A Witch's World will do everything within our power to help you in your spiritual journey with perfect love and perfect trust.
