Hail Doom Metal Bangers!!! Finally some news about Midgard.
The band continues active and we have already 90% of new material for a new CD composed. Midgard is looking for a new drummer at the moment, to restart the rehearsals with these new songs. The plans are to use the rest of 2009 to put some order in the house and entering 2010 recording a new album.
A new Website also is in our plans, with a .com domain, and much more complete.
We thank everybody that have supported us and I hope to have some good news soon.

The presence of Midgard in "W:O:A Metal Battle Brazil 2008" was confirmed. The band will participate of the regional selective in Ribeirão Preto/SP (Brazil), at 12th april. More information about this event will be added in this site soon.

Finally Midgard´s first full lenght was released! It´s
title is "From Ashes..." and the official release date is 4/24/2006
by Force Majeure Records. From Ashes... contains 9 songs and 46 minutes.
Below you can read the track listing and a little remark about each one:
1- Self Liberty: It´s the older song of the band and had a lot of changes along the time. This song was part of Midgard´s 1st demo tape (not officially released). In the first version it was very different, with just a few guitar arrangements and with a keyboard (very high the whole time). Then it appears again in the 1st official demo, which the title was the name of this song, "Self Liberty", yet looking very alike today´s version. Now, it´s the openning song of From Ashes..., becouse it´s one of the favourite songs for us. The lyrics is about the anguish of having to live and face some problems that seem to be not ours , and to complain about it or to blame Gods and Demons just do not work...it´s like the song says: "...you do what you want to ang gather what you plant".
2- Power Machine: The 2nd song is much slower, with a heavier atmosphere. This one is all about the "machine" which people are part just like "pieces" absolutely replaceable and could be discarded any moment. It´s the money machine, the power machine, of the slavery of the people that, if they want to eat and survive, have to serve the owners of this machine.
3- False: This one sounds much more like 80´s Heavy Metal and begins straight with the 1st verse sung with the base. The lyrics fits like a glove in the music´s atmosphere, because it´s about false friendships. the chorus is much that Midgard´s style, with a very slow rhythm and growlings. The guitar solo on this song, for me, is one of the coolest solos (here goes a special thank to our ex guitar player, Rafael Bianzeno).
4- For Midgard´s Sake: This is the brand new version for "Midnight Rainbow" from our 2nd official demo "Lamúria". The lyrics isn´t the same of Midnight Rainbow, being this new version writen by Paula Jabur (she took care of our booking and management at that time). For Midgard´s Sake is the longest song on this CD, with more than 8 minutes and has several different pieces, from some calm parts to almost Death Metal ones.
5- World of Illusion: Melancholy!!! Slow!!! Totally Doom!!! This lyrics was writen by Daniel and it´s about the "world of illusion" that some people use to create giving great value to "wrong" things and leaving some more important things behind.
6- Light off the Candles: Light Off... follows that HM style, also with a slow chorus and growlings. It´s principal lines are a little bit different, but it do net run away from Midgard´s style.
7- The Dark Feeling of Sadness: Another one of the favourites of Midgard. The Dark... is purely Doom Metal and has a very depressive lyric. It also was part of 2ª demo "Lamúria".
8- Echoes in Eternity: It´s a composition by Rafael Bianzeno (our guitarist at that times in studio) and by Alex Voohees, from Imago Mortis. The lyrics was wroten by Daniel and says that what you do in your life echoes in the eternity (as suggests the name of this music).
9- Solitude: Our modest tribute to the great "fathers of Doom", Candlemass. Here a special participation by Alex Voorhees (Mortis Imago) singing. Particularly I was very grateful of being able to record this classic of one of the bands that more influenced us. And please let me die in solitude!
