1. Open a bank account- Go to the National Neopian Bank located in the "Shops" area and open an account. Don't worry about all the information they ask you to fill out - it's all pretend! Don't use your real info! After you get your account, you'll be able to store NP in the bank. Your money will be safe from the Tax Beast or other nefarious Neopian creatures that can steal your NP - Remember to log on every day to collect your interest! You can also store valuable objects in your Safety Deposit Box.
2. Get a shop - There is some serious NP to be made from a shop once you learn the tricks of the trade. For now, you can use it to sell off random objects you don't want or can't use. Be sure to check what other Neopians are selling them for on the Shop Wizard!

3. Begin Training Pet - A strong pet is a happy pet so you should begin training it as soon as possible. If you're new to the training process, try checking out the Swashbuckling Academy on Krawk Island. Their classes are the cheapest - one dubloon per session for low level pets.
4. Work On Your User Lookup - If someone types your username into the yellow tool bar on Neopets, they will see your User Lookup. Your Lookup is just a bunch of information about you - like when you last logged on, what guild you're in, or how many Neopets you have. You can edit some of this information by navigating to the User Info page. If you know some HTML or CSS, you can dramatically change the look of your Lookup by adding a background, changing the text color, inserting images, or whatever code you can get away with! Neopets even offers an HTML Tutorial in their Help Section.
5. Earn Some Trophies - Many times you can earn trophies by completeing certain tasks, such as getting a high score on a game or winning a Neopets contest. Cheat and Pyramids are pretty easy to win trophies from. Punchbag Bob is another easy trophy - as long as you have several hours to waste attacking him over and over and over... Whenever you get a trophy, it is immediately put on display in your User Lookup so everyone can see how cool you are!
6. Get Your Pet Weaponry - Now that you've trained your pet a bit you need to go out and buy some weapons for it. Try to save up for the best armor you can get for your pet. Many species have their own ultimate items (Such as the Ancient Eyrie Longsword) which improve their fighting ability greatly. For now though, get the best armor or weapons your pet can afford.
