The Midnight Cry. What is it? Who gives it? Is it going on now?
The Midnight Cry is a reference to the parable of Jesus given in Matthew 25. It refers to the 10 virgins, 5 of whom were wise and carried extra oil, and 5 of whom were foolish and carried no extra oil. Jesus is the bridegroom and the virgins represent God's true church. They are waiting for Jesus to come to the wedding party, but there is a delay and they all sleep. Then in the middle of the night a cry is heard [NOTE: The cry is NOT heard from the virgins themselves, but from somewhere outside!] All the virgins awaken, but the 5 foolish virgins are caught unprepared to go to the wedding party because it is dark and they seek in vain to purchase oil for their lamps. The door is shut, the foolish arrive late, and are left in darkness to be forever lost.
Today the midnight cry is being heard around the world with the 3 angels message of Revelation 14, warning us to make ready for our Lord is soon to appear. We see the signs which mark the evidences of this cry as they come from government sources regarding its corruption, from the nations concerning numerous wars being declared in the name of "peace", famines and plagues, from the churches concerning the lowering of the standards of conduct and from the police concerning the increase in violent crime. This website contains numerous links to information concerning many of these major points of interest which confirms that we are in the last days, and the midnight cry is about to swell to a final powerful "loud cry" which will soon go all over the world for all to see and here and have one last opportunity to return to the worship of the God of creation (as apposed to the God of Destruction, who is Satan). One disaster after another, and one sign after another testifies to the truth that some great event is about to take place that will take the whole world by surprise. Yes, the event involves preparation for the return of Jesus, but let's not forget that Satan will also take the field of battle and will succeed in deceiving most of those on this earth into believing that he is the Christ. Only those whose lamps are shinning bright through the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit (the 'oil' that the foolish virgins had carelessly left behind) will be prepared for this last hour in earths history. Lamps are used to see with in the darkness, and since the foolish virgins could not make proper use of their lamps they are not able to see clearly so as to join in the wedding party as they traveled to the reception. The light itself represents "truth" and "the truth of God's Word" ("A light unto thy path"), but without the oil of the indwelling Holy Spirit we cannot find ultimate truth, and are actually living in darkness while believing we are living in the light. It is a fatal condition which the midnight cry cannot remedy, unless we have appropriated the oil in our lamps before the close of probationary time. Pray that there will be oil in our lamps.
A Parable of Jesus
The Ten Virgins and the Midnight Cry
"Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight a cry was heard; 'Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!' Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.' But the wise answered, saying, 'No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.' And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut. Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open to us!' But he ansered and said, 'Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.' Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming."
