A short distance above Rocky Ford, on the right, is the location of the town of Jacks Fork and the first post office on the upper river. On the left was an indian town. A number of indian towns were built along Jacks Fork as tribes being relocated moved through the area. |

Rocky Ford is the last access before the prongs join at Jacks Fork road. In 1848 Hugh Stoops, a circuit riding minister, started holding services at the ford. Rocky Ford town was one of many that ceased to exist during the Civil War. |
