I'm presently working to read .dem (Digital Elevation Models (DEM))
file. With this I can import terrain elevation map in 3D Studio Max so
I can use it for creating nice virtual scene of the real world.

Here is a small old C program I use for converting DEM file. It read
DEM file and create a XYZ text file:  dem1.c
