Despite Thailand's popularity as a tourism destination, relatively
few foreigners visit its many National Parks and other protected areas.
That's a shame, because the nature of Thailand is extremely diverse and
relatively accessible.
Forest monasteries are at the forefront of the Thai
environmental movement. The monks draw on Buddhist theology to teach
respect for nature and encourage a less acquisitive lifestyle. During
her language training Michelle joined young Khon Kaen University
faculty members on a pilgrimage to a forest monastery in Chaiyaphum
Province: here's the group after the Abbot's open-air sermon.
