My Physical Therapy Page
Physical therapy is one of my greatest interests. I graduated in August 2002 with a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from  Central Michigan University. PT is  critical in helping people maintain and regain their independence from a disability. Everyone can be treated by a physical therapist -- those with chronic conditions, orthopedic problems, cardiopulmonary issues, pain, sports related or job related injuries, even those without a disablilty, concerning education and prevention. You can work with the very young to the very old -- it's a multi-faceted occupation that I could never imagine getting bored with.
Through my work to get into grad school and now as a physical therapist,  I have learned more and more about the different aspects of the field. You can work in just about any setting -- outpatient clinics, hospitals, nursing homes, home care groups, schools, or on work sites. The possibilities are endless as to how you can help people. The people you meet along the way is what makes it most rewarding for me -- to be able to give back to someone  a part of their freedom that they might not have had without you creates a bond that can never be broken. That kind of bond is a feeling that is worth more than any kind of compensation you could be given to work in this field.
This is me with one of the people I regularly volunteered with. She's a great person, and she's taught me as much as I have (hopefully) taught her. We had a lot of fun together.
Have I at least made you a little more interested? Then check out these links that are full of information about every aspect of Physical therapy that you could imagine....
