As of May 16, our dossier has reached China. We expect about a 11 month wait for a baby referral, and then about a nine week wait to travel.

not much to update. Today is fathers day, and i bought Mike a cute card. I think he was very touched. Next year he will be a father for real. Today i pained a little in the nursery. I bought a stencil growth chart from Pottery Barn Kids. I had no idea how difficult this was going to be. I am no painter! any way "Aunt Karey" from work is helping me with this. Last week we ironed on the stencil and she started painting the leaves while i stamped flowers and butterflies on the walls. Today i got the courage to paint two of the flowers on the chart. I am so proud of myself.
Hello All. To all of you who do not know that much about international adoption, the name of the game is WAIT, Wait, wait! any way... our dossier (packet of information) got to China on May 16 and we will not hear anything at all...for at least 7 to 8 months! At that time we receive our referral, which is a picture and some basic info about the baby. i.e. size, weight, legnth, etc. Then we accept the referral! of course. Then we apply for our travel Visa and make travel plans. Usually you have to wait 8 to 9 weeks before you can travel to China to pick up your baby. The stay in China is about 14 days. And the baby's room is finished. we are just waiting for the furniture to arrive.
we got the furniture! it looks soo cute! also today it has been two months since our dossier has reached China! that means six more months at most before we receive our photo of Paige! And then a hectic nine week wait to go pick her up from China. Also i have begun to register for the things we need, to see an on-line registry

Our First shower is scheduled for May 10th at Michelle's work. A Second shower has also been planned for May 19th with Mike's side of the family. Should be lots of fun things to come.....................
