November 16, 1999: It's been a little while since I updated here. Been sick (yuck) and just haven't had the chance to update our progress. |

Unfortunately, we're sort of in a bit of a wait thing now. We've obtained some of the documentation needed for the dossier but are waiting for a bunch of other things. Michael owns his own business so we have to get his CPA to write a financial verification statement. I have mine from work so that's done, but we're still waiting for the CPA to do Michael's. We also received our birth certificates and have the state certifications on them. |

We are also going this week to get our medical workups done. They require about a dozen or so different blood and urine tests. We should have the results back from them by next week (or maybe a little after with the holiday) but then that part is done. |

We are still waiting for the I171 form (the INS international adoption approval form) to come back. We expect to get that about any time now -- we had our fingerprints done about a month ago and the HomeStudy approval was sent then too. |

The adoption agency gives you a handy dandy checklist to see where you are in your forms. It's nice to see the little checkmarks growing!! I wish they were ALL done though -- I'm so impatient!! We were really trying to get this all done to be submitted by December but I don't think we're going to make it. It seems to take longer to get documents through the system than we first thought (sigh). |
