October 27, 2000: Our FedEx package came today! It included some more information about Rachel, another picture (!!) and some paperwork for us to do. |
|
|
|
It also included the formal acceptance letter. This was a letter from the Chinese government stating that we accepted Yue Ling Zhu as our daughter and that we would love her and never abandon her. My hand was shaking when I signed it -- this paper makes it official. We have a daughter! |

|
It had to be back to the agency by Monday (today is Friday) so we FedEx'ed it right back out again. |

Here's the information we got today about our Rachel. |
|
|
|
On April 13 (she was about one month old!) she had a medical exam. Everything seems to be normal and she was pronounced a healthy little baby! At her physical exam she was 51.0 cm (about 20") long and weighed 3.4 kg (about 7.5 lbs)!! We think the picture we got yesterday was taken at that time (the one on the previous page). |

The agency told us we would get some updated information in about two weeks. |

We also got another picture -- this is so amazingly cute!!! We think she's about four months old in this one! Look at all the clothes she has on! |

We've been having a GREAT time telling everyone! I called my Mom and Dad and Michael's Mom and Dad right away, and then Aunt Shari and Uncle Phil. It's so great everyone is SO exicted! I was able to email these pictures to them -- the wonders of the Internet!! |

I don't think I slept a wink last night. I couldn't think of anything but our precious Rachel. I can't stop looking at her pictures! |
