Based upon: This is, of course, the 8th film in the popular Halloween series. Premise: A group of six teenagers stage a live Internet chat from the house Michael Myers grew up in, and sure enough, he soon shows up to do some nostalgic slicing and dicing. Premise Note: (12/5/99) But... I can tell you what the folks at the series' official site did a few months ago. They held a survey, asking for fans input about whether the next film should be another Michael Myers film, or if it should depart from that plotline like Halloween 3: Season of the Witch did. There's been no word yet on which concept won (or indeed; it could end up being a marriage of the two). What it does tell us, though, is that they are at least considering going with something new (or old :). (8/15/00) All indications seem to be that yes, Michael Myers will return. Filming: Production started on May 14th, 2001 in Vancouver on a budget of $15 million, and wrapped in late June, 2001.
