MICHAEL VAYNMAN SCULPTOR

Born St Petersburg Russia in 1974, to a well known artistic family. He migrated to Australia with his family in 1982. Michael Vaynman has participated in exhibitions since the age of ten, and worked in numerous mediums such as clay, supersculpey, plaster and epoxy/fibreglass. Michael has also had extensive experience in mould making both within his studies and through work. He has made silicone rubber and plaster moulds for his own works and as well as the works of other sculptors. Michael is currently working for Australian Bronze.

Education
1994-1995 Diploma of Fine Arts, sculpture major, painting minor. St George TAFE
1996-2000 Bachelor of Visual Arts, Painting Drawing major. Studies also completed in Ceramics, Photography, Printmaking, and electives in film theory and video production. (Moving images I & II and social Issues in the cinema). UWS Macarthur

Artist Statement

"I create sculpture that explores classic sculptural forms and classic themes.
The main intention of my art is to bring quiet to the mind and involve the person in the asthetic experience. The vehicle I use for this is the classic form explored and executed in a contemporary style".
