Michael Jeffrey Jordan was born on 17th February 1963 in Brooklyn, New York. He was brought up in Wilmington, North Carolina. He stands 6’6” tall and weighs 216 pounds. Chicago Bulls drafted him in first round (3rd overall) of the 1984 NBA Draft. Presently he plays for the Washington Wizards as a No. 23 Shooting Guard. He is considered to be as one of the finest athlete and the best basketball player in the history of NBA. He is a productive scorer, who led the Chicago Bulls to many recent NBA championships. Merely as a freshman, he delivered the winning stroke in the 1982 NCAA championship against the Hoyas of Georgetown. In the 1983-84 season, Jordan was selected college player of the year. He led the United States basketball team to a gold medal in the 1984 Olympic Games held in Los Angeles.

 
 

 Jordan is married to Juanita. The couple has two sons Jeffrey and Marcus, and a daughter, Jasmine.

 In 1986, he graduated in Arts from the University of North Carolina.

 In 1991, Jordan acted in the movie "Space Jam" and hosted "Saturday Night Live."

 As a good luck charm he always wore his University of North Carolina shorts under his Bulls uniform.

In February 1994, he was signed as a non-drafted free agent by the Chicago White Sox club (Baseball).

Jordan also participated in numerous restaurant ventures.

   He is in partnership with several corporations and has a line of JORDAN athletic shoes and apparel for        Nike, and the widely successful Jordan-brand (line of colognes) by Bijan.

 He is a member of the board of America's Promise and is actively involved with the United Negro College Fund, Make-A-Wish Foundation, and the Special Olympics.

At the University of North Carolina, Jordan set up the Jordan Family Institute.

In the loving memory of his father he built the James R. Jordan Boys and Girls Club & Family Life Center; in association with the Chicago Bulls.

Jordan is an advocate for The Boys and Girls Clubs of America.

In January 2000, he joined the Washington Wizards as President of Basketball Operations.

In September 2001, he resigned from the designation of Presidentship and signed a player contract with the Wizards.
