Nairobi Nobel Peace Prize Winner Wangari Maathai, who in 2004 became the first black African woman to win a Nobel, told a U.N. conference on climate change in Kenya.
She is calling on the World  to plant 1 Billion Trees in the next year, calling it a way ordinary citizens can personally Fight Global Warming !"This is something anybody can do."

NUN GETS 30 YEARS IN DEATHS Nairobi,Kenya-A Catholic nun has been sentenced to 30 years in jail for helping militias kill hundreds of people hiding in a hospital during Rwanda's 1994 genocide, an official said. Theophister Mukakibibi was convicted of helping ethnic Hutus kill ethnic Tutsis seeking refuge from the slaughter in Butare hospital, where she worked.
