| HEALTH REPORT JUST IN: HAWAII and IOWA get highest marks! Hawaii, for example gets top marks due to, in large part, to a 1974 law requiring employers to offer health insurance to employees who work 20 hours or more per week. 87% of adults in the state are insured, as are 94.7% of children. On the other end Mississippi and Oklahoma which tied for last place in over all ranking of 50 states have high levels of uninsured and restrictive limits on who is eligible for state sponsored care through Medicaid. |
