Georgia's New Law went int effect
Prohibits Sex Offenders
regardless of the circumstances behind the charge, from living working or loitering within 1,000 feet of anywhere children gather, including: Schools, Churches, Libraries, Parks, Gyms, Swimming Pools, or any one of the states 150,000 School Bus Stops. Which will displace virtually every registered sex offender. Which numbers over 10,000 people. State Rep. Jerry Keen said when he introduced the legislation January of 2006 " We don't want these kind of people staying in our state"
It is predicted that many will live out of their cars or set up tents and trailers in the woods, unsupervised.
Atlanta based Southern Center for Human Rights argues that the law will undermine efforts to keep track of offenders.
Under the Georgia law, those deemed sexually dangerous predators also would have to wear electronic monitoring devices for the rest of their lives.
