3. Personal Ads, per capita, on GEEK 2 GEEK
4. Craiglist Postings, per capita
5. Number of attendees at local meetings of DORKBOT, a group for "People doing strange things with electricity".
6. Availability of Free Wi-Fi
7. Comic Book Stores
8. Circuit City Stores, per capita
In the Range of 1-10 Boston rated:
#9. Proximity to Top-rated Engineering schools
#9. Personal ads, per capita on Geek 2 Geek
#8. Tech-Jobs, per capita
Obsessive open source hacking, multitasking operating systems, involuntary celibacy...it's like geekiness was invented here. Winters may be frigid, but at least there are lots of single nerds to hibernate with.
