Aug. 30th 1862*

Aug. 30th The Regiment re-crossed Bull Run moving to the front, deployed again as skirmishers moving down the stream by the right flank. Re-crossing, it withdrew from the field, being engaged in protecting the flank and rear of the Brigade from the numerous assaults of the Confederate cavalry. The 2nd Mich. Inf. then resumed the march reaching Centreville about 11pm.
