Mitsukake is the most serious among the seven and a soft-spoken man. Before being found by Miaka and her friends, Mitsukake disguised himself as a poor, old medicine man, refusing to help anyone after the tragic death of his true love, Shoka. Her death still haunts him, as he had to go out of town at the time and help an extremely ill patient, not knowing that his darling awaited him, sick in bed. Slowly dying without him knowing, he comes back to find her dead. Plus he has a kawaii cat that usually follows him everywhere.
