Two ordinary junior-high school girls, Miaka, and her best friend Yui are pulled into a strange land, resembling that of ancient China, by The Book of the Universe of the Four Gods. Once there, they encounter immediate danger, but are saved by a handsome young warrior by the name of Tamahome. Soon enough, they are separated, Miaka being trapped by herself in the strange new world, and Yui, sent back home, reading helplessly of her best friend�s struggles and adventures in the enchanted book. What�s to become of Miaka and Yui as this strange story unfolds before them? An exciting romance and adorable comedy, Fushigi Yuugi is powerfully entertaining and manages to capture you attention from beginning to end.
