![]() Agenda
April 5th The first annual Manga Picnic was a somewhat success! I say somewhat because the turn out was much lower than expected, but it was still pretty good since we were in the middle of nowhere. For those of you complaining about not enough activities, tough nuts to you. The next event is not quite clear seeing as though finals are right around the corner [*GYAAAAAAAAAAAaaaa*] -_-;; but we're looking into an end of the year party before we go off to summer and then to the Anime Expo. Also, if you're interested in applying for an Anime Club Officer position for next year, come personally talk to me at any of the meetings, because we're looking into opening some new positions to take some of the stress off our already over-worked people. haha ^_^;; INFO
Schedule
Fees and Member PrivilegesFees are $5. This covers CD-R/VHS purchase [by the by, we will soon start checking out VHS fansubs], promotional items, parties, raffle goods, food, candy for sales, and a whole mess more. As you can see, it's a pretty good deal. especially for those of you just there for the anime and dun feel that tingly urge to help us out actively. ^_^;; no offense. We will be keeping a tab on the people who pay and don't who pay because those who do pay will have the following:
Fan Art and Fan Fiction Magazine
Fan Fiction Magazine? WHAT fanfiction magazine? Based on the results of last year's... 'magazine' i have decided to screw that idea and mostly focus on the on-line aspect of our club and the possibility of a news letter. sound good? good. if you have fan art of ANY kind.. [non-nekedness pleeze] bring it in to me, either on floppy already scanned, or the original. same goes for interesting articles of anime relation written by you or other people and we'll start putting them on line. you could win *gasp* PRIZES!! FREE PRIZES!! o_O;; for those of you who haven't noticed, the updates for this site have been spread pretty thin, but NOW THAT I CAN EDIT... a little, i'll do what i can. we're actually waiting for my dear treasured site managers to get finished with a freakin cool new and MUCH improved web site that will replace this one. so be patient, my pretties... soon. very soon. What is a Fansub?
Fansub is anime that came from Japan (duh) and has not been on the commercial market; therefore fans of anime have subtitled them in their own time and distributed them among anime fans. It is not illegal because they are not commercialized HERE yet therefore it is ok to watch it and copy it and so forth. READ THE DISCLAIMER In JAC, people who pay their fees will be able to access the fansub library that we will start building. The money in the fees will go towards creating and or buying new fansubs. |
