Titles and Responsibilities
President
The President is the Club's chief executive officer and
chairs the Executive Committee. He or she is responsible
for the general direction and operation of the Club.
The President directs the Club in a way that is consistent
with the educational growth and leadership needs of its
members. The President guides the Executive Committee
in establishing the short and long-term goals of the Club.
The educational and growth goals of the Club are consistent
with the Distinguished Club
Program.
Vice President - Education
The Vice President Education (VPE) is responsible for
promoting the Toastmasters Educational program and for
planning successful club meetings.
This officer is also responsible for:
- Orienting new members to the Toastmasters Program
and to the Club.
- Assigning mentors to new members.
- Making sure all members understand the importance of
excellent evaluations and know how to evaluate.
- Arranging special educational programs, including
speech contests.
- Encouraging members to participate in other Toastmasters
activities and programs.
- Attending and participating in Executive Committee
meetings.
- Attending and voting at Area and District meetings.
- Voting at Regional and International Business meetings.
Vice President - Membership
The Vice President of Membership (VPM) plans, organizes, and
implements a marketing effort which ensures the Club
maintains or exceeds 20 members. This officer works with
groups inside and outside of Toastmasters to promote Club
membership and retention and maintains a Club Membership
list and attendance records. The VPM also attends and
participates in Executive Committee meetings.
Vice President - Public Relations
The Vice President of Public Relations (VP-PR) develops and
administers a publicity program that maintains a positive
image of Toastmasters for all members, guests, and general
public. This officer is responsible for internal and
external public relations for the Club, including preparing
and distributing news releases regarding Club activities,
publicizing Club events, and representing the Club to the
media. The VP-PR also attends and participates in Executive
Committee meetings.
Secretary/Treasurer
The Secretary and Treasurer office positions are held by
the same Officer in our Club. The Secretary is responsible
for all Club records and correspondence. This person is
responsible for keeping the Club's Constitution and Bylaws
and any other official Club documents. The Treasurer office
is responsible for developing and executing financial
policies, audits, and controls. The Treasurer maintains
the Club's budget for the year. The Treasurer also receives
and disburses funds in payment of all Club obligations.
He or she also notifies Club members when dues are payable
and collects dues. The Secretary/Treasurer attends and
participates in all Executive Committee Meetings.
Sergeant at Arms
The Sergeant at Arms serves as master host and arranges
the room and equipment for all Club meetings. The Sergeant
at Arms makes sure all members and guests are welcomed at
Club meetings and controls the Club's property between
meetings. This Officer attends and participates in all
Executive Committee Meetings.
