JESUS IS HANDED OVER
TO PILATE
HOLY
GROUND - MIDI
Matthew 27:
1-24
When morning came, all
the Chief Priests
and the Elders of the
People, Plotted against Jesus,
to put Him to Death.
And when they had Bound
Him,
They Led Him away and
Delivered Him
to Pontius Pilate, the
Governor.
Now Jesus stood before Pilate
And the Governor asked
Him,
"Are You The King
Of The Jews?"
Jesus said to him,
"Thou Sayest."
Now it was the
custom at the Feast to release a prisoner whom the people requested. A
man called Barabbas was in prison with the insurrectionists who had committed
murder in the uprising. The crowd came up and asked Pilate to do for them
what he usually did [release a prisoner}.
"Do you want me to release
to you the King of the Jews?"
asked Pilate…But the
chief priests stirred up the crowd to have Pilate release Barabbas instead.
"What shall I do, then,
with the one you call the
King of the Jews?"
Pilate asked them. -- "Crucify Him!"
they shouted. "Why?
What crime has he committed?"
asked Pilate. But
they shouted all the louder, "Crucify Him!"
Wanting
to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas to them….
And they began to call
out to [Jesus],
"Hail, King of the Jews!"
When Pilate saw
he could not Prevail,
He took Water and Washed
his Hands saying,
"I am Innocent of
the Blood of This Just Person,
And all the People answered
and said,
"His Blood be on Us
and On Our Children."

Then Judas, His Betrayer,
Seeing that Jesus was
Condemned, Judas was Remorseful
And Brought back the
30 Pieces of Silver
To the Chief Priest and
Elders,
Saying, "I
have Sinned by Betraying Innocent Blood."
Then he Threw down the
Pieces of Silver
In the Temple and Went
and Hanged himself.
