Children's laughter fills the air,
Life and laughter ring;
Across the hills of Heaven,
Small, sweet voices sings.

GENTLE JESUS MEEK AND MILD - MIDI

ONE WHO IS GENTLE
...learn from Me; for I am gentle...
(Matthew 11:29)

Being gentle is not the same as being
passive or ineffective or apathetic.
Jesus was not a wimp.
He stood up to injustice.
He challenged oppression.
He fought for the truth, even
  unto death.
But He always did so with respect for those
  who were involved.

There was a quality of deep peace at
the center of all His passion for life.
This peace gentled His ways and deepened
His passion for life.

It enabled Him to approach difficult
people and situations without
 harshness and resentment.

Like Jesus, we need to be
honest about our feelings and assert our rights.
As we do, let us also respect one another.

Jesus, gentle and kind of heart, I desire
to learn from You this Lent.
