ONE WHO LOVES CHILDREN

Let the children
come to Me, and
do not stop them.
(Matthew 19:14)
The disciples were sternly rebuking the
parents who were
bringing their children to Jesus for a
blessing. When
Jesus heard this, He was indignant.
He loved children.
He saw the clearness of their souls
and the simplicity
with which they approached life.
As adults, we can
lose our sense of the child in us.
We can also forget
the beauty of the children around us, seeing
them more
as a nuisance and a bother than as
the gift they really
are. Let us be more patient with
children and enjoy
their spontaneity. Let us welcome
them into our
midst as Jesus did.
Jesus, help me to love the child in me
and to
enjoy the presence of children in my life.
