I only want to write the words
that penetrate the soul.
I only want to tell the world
the things it ought to know.
Be that through rhyme or reason,
through story or through psalm.
When I write the world turns,
and I hold it in my palm.

There were words once,
   that I wanted to say,
but you didn't give me time,
and now I can't remember.

It's all become so stupid,
   and so useless.

I did say "I love you,"
   but you didn't listen.

You are visitor number

Where I say it all in poetry and prose. I speak through the written word. Don't ask me to stand in front of crowd and tell them what it's all about. Don't ask me to tell you how I feel. Ask me to write it down, and it will come out exactly as I meant it to, so you will understand. It's a God given gift, I pray I use it well.                       Lauri

           Something
Give me some of you,
   So I have something,
     To wrap the memories in.
Something to build,
   Tomorrow with,
Something to dream on,
    And believe in.

Give me some of you,
   So I have something,
       To touch my heart.
Let me hold on,
   To you for a while,
So I have something,
   To build me with.

Talk to me,
I need to hear,
   You say the words
               good-bye.

It's the only way,
My heart will let,
    The tears fall from
                  my eyes.

Talk to me,
Don't let it go,
    Without a reason
                 why.

Let me hear it,
From your lips,
    So I can let it
                 die.

Unaccustom to hope,
I found feeling
In the promise.
Now the memories
Of silence,
Empty my soul.

I broke through your defenses,
   but only after
   you shattered mine.
You were able to rebuild.
I'm still trying.
