| I started writing poetry at the age of 13 and instantly fell in love with the art of creating something beautiful by simply putting words together. That led me to expand my horizons and try out just about form and genre I came across. In the years since, I have worked in journalism, advertising, and public relations. I've continued to write poetry, even won a few awards and managed to get a couple published, and have tried my hand at writing novels, (one and a half completed) but still remain unpublished in that field. After more than six years on staff at a local newspaper where I covered the county court system and political events - campaigns, press conferences, meetings, fundraisers, bills, laws, and resolutions - on the local, state and national levels, I've recently branched out on my own. While I admit I miss the rush of following a breaking news story, and all the wonderful people I met along the way, being a reporter left me no time for anything else. So here I go, off to chase my dream. In these pages you can read some of the things I have written. The poetry page features some of my favorite poetry and prose and I hope to change them periodically so my readers can see something new once in awhile. |
