| EPISODE(2) Multiplication of a number by 111 (Solution is found from right to left). 1. The unit's digit of the number is written as first part of the solution. 2. Unit and ten's digits are added to get the next part of the solution. 3. Last three digits are added to get the next part and successively 3 digits are added shifting to left side by 1 digit, each time to get next part. 4. First digit of the given number becomes last part of the solution. NOTE: one digit (right side) is taken from each part and extra digit, if any is carried forward and add to next part. Example1: 27 111. Solution: We write the problem as 027 111, to convert 27 in 3 digit nos. Part 1: 7 Part 2: 2 + 7 =9 Part 3: 0 + 2 + 7 =9 Part 4: 0 + 2 =2 Therefore 027 111 = 2997. Example2: 413 111. Solution: Part 1: 3 Part 2: 1 + 3 =4 Part 3: 4 + 1 + 3 =8 Part 4: 4 + 1 =5 Part 5: 4 Therefore 413 111 = 45843. Example3: 2643 111. Solution: Part 1: 3 Part 2: 4 + 3 =7 Part 3: 6 + 4 + 3 =13 (1 is carried forward to part 4) Part 4: (2 + 6 +4) + 1 =13 (1 is carried forward to part 5) Part 5: (2 + 6) + 1 =9 Part 6: 2 Therefore 2643 111 = 293373. -S.M.BILAL ARMAAN. |
