	The Ciudad Universitaria is one the big architectural and cultural jewels of Mexico City do to the big number of researchs and academic activities that are realizated there also because of its highlighting architecture that is considerated the major exponent of the funcionalism style in Latin America.
	The Ciudad Universitaria that is known by the inhabitants of the city as "C U", is located at the south of the central part of the city in both sides of Insurgentes Avenue and includes various grateful schools, important bibliotechs and distinguished cultural centres and museums. The central part of Ciudad Universitaria is integrated by the first buildings that were built during the 1950's and 1960's that are the result of the conjunt work of many of the more outstanding mexican architecs of that time that were searching a national architecture with an own identity. Because of that Ciudad Universitaria is distributed around big green areas and open air squares as the prehispanic cities. In this part is marvelous the amplitude and the immensity that you can feel in the Rectoria Tower explanade, tower that has in its facade some muraks of David Alfaro Siqueiros as soon as the Central Bibliotech that has a big mural of Juan O'Gorman.
