Metrocard Bus and Van
Metrocard
Bus & Van
There are two MetroCard buses in the city. They are designated as MC1 and MC2. They travel the city stopping at senior citizen centers, shopping centers, and along major bus routes you might also find them at many street fairs.  I have only seen MC1 but they both look the same. Outside the bus is painted like a MetroCard, inside is nice and air-conditioners (on hot days, during a street fair this is where the shade is). On a MetroCard bus you can do and get everything you need for a MetroCard. You can for or refill a Reduced-Fare MetroCard, you can buy or refill a Pay-Per-Ride MetroCard, you can buy unlimited MetroCards. With the helpful staff aboard these busses you can ask any MetroCard-related question and they would answer it.
The MetroCard van travels around the five boroughs, you will find them at important intersections, bus stops, and some street fairs. There are 6 that are in service that I know of. The van doesnt do all the things that a bus or a token booth does. What you can do is buy refill a Pay-Per-Ride MetroCard, buy a unlimited ride MetroCard or refill a Reduced-Fare MetroCard. You can not apply for a Reduced-Fare MetroCard at a MetroCard van. You can ask a MetroCard related question, but make it quick because they are usually a long line of people waiting to be served.
The locations for where the bus and van will be, can be found at the MTA website by clicking here
