2001 New Flyer C40LF LACMTA (5300- 5522) |
About the New Flyer C40LF |
These buses are powered by a Detroit Diesel 50G and an Allison B400R Transmission. The New Flyer C40LF's were delivered to MTA in 2001. These buses are numbered 5300- 5522. They run on Compressed Natural Gas. Some of the New Flyer C40LF's have chrome Alcoa (R) rims, such as the 5300 the first New Flyer to have the Alcoas. MTA's fellowship with New Flyer was when Citizen's Area Transit (Nevada) cancelled their order for the 19 New Flyer D40LF's. Then we ordered the 1999 New Flyer C40 or C40HF's, then came along the C40LF's in 2001. These buses are exactly identical to the D40LF except the C40LF's have the gas tank on the top of the coach. |
