About the New Flyer C40HF
These buses are powered by a Detroit Diesel 50G engine and a Allison B400R
These were the second batch of New Flyers sent to MTA after CAT Citizens Area Transit (Nevada) rejected the 1998 New Flyers and we took the order. These are run on CNG they are 40 feet and are HF high floor coaches. The are the only high floor New Flyer on MTA's fleet. Most of these buses operate out of divisions 3, and 5 and now 7. One unique thing about this bus is by the bike rack you insert a key and turn to the right and the door will close, no more pushing the doors closed when a driver needs to go eat or something. |
