There was such a change in him from earlier. It wasnt a bad change. We headed to the garage and came up to a dark green Mustang Convertible. He went to the passengers side and opened the door for me; once I had gotten in he closed it behind me. He got in the car and we left.
We drove for about fifteen minutes and we came to the upscale side of town. I couldnt see much; it had gotten dark by this time. We pulled up to a very large house. All the windows were lit. Cars were parked everywhere.
We pulled up to the front door and a guy standing outside opened the door for me. Blair got out of the car and handed the keys to the valet who was standing there. I looked at the man who opened the door for me he had a blank expression on his face; his movements were very robotic. I shrugged it off.
Blair came around the car and I took his arm. We walked in the front door. We didnt have to ring or knock. The door just opened. We had walked into this huge foyer, through the foyer and into a large ballroom that was full of people. All were wearing black dresses and tuxedos. It was loud in the room with people talking and the music playing, a waltz at the time. From where we were standing you could barely see a few people dancing in the middle of the room. The room was huge with white marble pillars, Stained glass windows between the pillars and red velvet curtains. On one end of the room was a large champagne tower and a buffet table. Beside the Champaign tower was another exactly like accept the drink was a red color.
In My mind things were beginning to get really strange. The whole thing was new and interesting. We walked over to the Champaign and he got a glass for me, then one for himself, and we proceeded out into the middle of the crowd.
"What was that stuff?" I asked.
"Champaign," he said confused.
"OKThat" Pointing at the red glasses,."You will learn about that soon enough! Blair said with a smug smile on his face. "Samantha," He said rather loudly. He was talking to a girl who, was in front of us, looked about my age. She was about medium height, had long brown hair, and white skin . She was wearing a black floor length strappy dress. She turned fully to see who we were. There was a blank expression on her face. Then she popped into life.
"Blair," She came up to him and practically fell onto him.
Samantha this is Jasmin, have you seen Dameon or Spike?
Its nice to meet you Jasmin. But might I ask you this, how did you end up with this ugly player? She softly laughed at the hurt look on Blair's face. Blair Im just kidding and you know that.
Have you had too much to drink already? Blair asked.
No I never drink too much." She paused, "Glenn! She yelled. "Come here!" A guy behind her turned around a little annoyed but had a smile on his face. He was wide shouldered with brown hair. He actually had a little color in his face compared to a lot of the people in the room. He slowly came up to us. "This is my friend Glenn....Glenn this is Jasmin, a friend of Spike and Dameon." Samantha explained to him.
"Glenn perhaps you can tell me where Spike and Dameon are, since she is being of no help to us," Blair said before Samantha could say another word.
"Yea....As you can tell she has already had to many drinks. I cant tell you an exact location but they're over there somewhere," he pointed towards the opposite side of the room.
"Well we were supposed to meet them thirty minutes ago so we'd better head over there," Blair said to me and we began to head in that direction. It took us a few minutes but finally I saw spiked blond hair over the crowd. They were standing in a group of people. All were pale and were wearing mostly black. Most of the people in the group were holding the glasses with the red drink instead of the Champaign. We stood at the edge of the group for a few minutes until we were noticed . Spike was the first to notice us. He walked over, bent down, took my had and gave it a gentle kiss.
Welcome my lady to the party, he said.
Its nice to be here. I think. I paused for a moment, "But might I ask what am I doing here?
"We thought we would give you one night out without worry!"
"OK." Before I could say anything more Dameon walked up and interrupted me.
"Look who I found? Hes finally home!" He pulled up someone I didnt know. He was about 5 10" same as Blair. He was wearing a black shirt, black pants and a black leather jacket. With what he was wearing he kind of stood out in the crowd. He had dark brown hair that was shaved really short, and was partially clean-. It looked as if he was trying to grow a goatee, and he had on glasses. I dont know why I noticed it but his eyes were distant and deep, as if there was a lot of stories trying to reach the surface and got out into the world. "Jasmin this is Kali, hes been on the road for the last year."
"Its nice to meet you Kali!" and I shook his hand.
"What the hell am I doing here? I could be at home or anyway else but here. I dont know why I even came! I wish I was at home!" I was thinking to myself.
"No you dont," this little guy beside me said.
"What?" I asked confused.
"I think you would rather be here than at home. Just give it time, the party will get better." He was a small guy about 5'4"He had black hair which was in a crew cut style, his face was clean shaven and was wearing a black shirt, with a red Japanese style dragon on the front, on underneath his tuxedo jacket instead of the normal white tuxedo shirt.
"What are you talking about?" I asked.
"You were just thinking that!"
"How did you know?"
"I'm Special." Now I was totally and fully confused.
"Go away Spoof!" Spike said talking to the little guy. "Stay away from him, I don't know how and I dont know why but he can read your thoughts. He's just like that I guess Weird as hell. How about we adjourn outside?" he asked.
"Please!" I said in a voice of total urgency. And we headed to the glass doors that lead to the outside.
It was a beautiful night, there were a few scattered clouds in the sky and they were small enough that the light from the full moon shimmered around the edges as they would float gracefully past it. if the moon wasnt so bright I bet you would have been able to see every star in the sky. The moon lit up the earth as if it were daylight. We were on a huge balcony that was lined with a rail of white marble. the balcony hung over a huge garden where the flowers were in bloom. It was just Spike and I outside on the balcony alone on this beautiful night.
"So why did you come?" He asked me.
"I'm really not sure!" I paused to think, "Well I did wake up in My bed and there was someone I had never met before in my life asleep on the couch in my apartment, and he tells me I need to get ready and leave for some party. What am I supposed to think? I went over to the rail and sat down on it. I had to hop up but I made it onto it. "I had to make a choice trust him and take my chances or stay at home and stay around and do nothing in a place I really dont like to be anymore. Hey I dont even know you or Dameon that well....UM...I was just curious to see what was going on. I had a feeling nothing bad could or would happen to me."
"You like to ramble dont you?" He asked me and I kind of blushed. but I dont think he saw it though.
"I dont mean to but I guess I do."
"I can tell."
The glass door that we had come through to come outside opened and out walked Dameon. "I was wondering where you to had run off to. What you up to out here?" He asked.
"It was such a beautiful night that I would prefer to be out here and I asked her to join me. Is that all that bad?" Now Spike was sarcastically rambling.
The three of us stood outside talking for a while when Dameon decided to add to the conversation. "Its nice to have a conversation with you when you aren't drunk!"
"What I wasnt very good conversation last night?" I laughed. Then I got serious. "What happened last night?"
"You dont remember?" Spike asked.
"No....Not really! I only remember parts."
"Well you were beginning to get really drunk and I bought you only last drink which was only a screwdriver, you took a drink and mumbled something about blood and passed out."
"OK? But how did I get home?"
Well after you passed out we looked at your drivers license to see where you lived, we carried you to the car and drove you to your house, and put you in bed. To make sure you were alright we told Blair to stay, and also we knew he would let you know about tonight. He lives closet to you so we figured he was the right choice."
"Oh Blair said something earlier about you trying to kill him. What happened?" Dameon asked.
"Well what would you think if you were a girl, you didnt know how you got home the night before and there is a strange guy laying on your couch? What would you think?"
"I dont know." Dameon shrugged.
"Dameon I think we have a problem. Look!" Spike said in an urgent voice talking to Dameon, and he points at a shadow in the distance. As first Dameon didnt know what the hell Spike was talking about, but then I noticed his eyed widen. "Go in and Get Blair, Kali and Jaques. And hurry!" He said to me almost yelling. "Tell them Cain is back." I went inside as fast as I could not really knowing what I was doing this for, what the reasoning behind it was. I wen back to the place where we had left them, but they werent there. Then I spotted Balie. I went over to her almost in a run.
"Did you see where Kali, Blair or Jaques went?" I asked in a rush.
"Yea there at the bar why?" She asked in her own confused way. The bas was on the other side of the room. I pushed my way through the people as quickly as possible. and just as Balie had said there they were standing at the bar. Blair was the closest to me so I went to him first. It took me a minute to get his attention.
"Blair, I was told to tell you that Cain is back.
"Cain?" His voice sounded high pitched and a little scared and confused.
"Yea!!"
"Guys I think we have a problem. If she is right than Cain is back!" Surprisingly he had calmed down from just a second earlier. The others had the look of surprise on there faces. "Where are they?"
"On the balcony." we pushed our way back through the people back to the balcony. I was the last one out the door. It was now Dameon, Spike, Blair, Kail, and two Blair's. But one wasnt Blair. because Blair was standing beside me and he was wearing a tuxedo. the guy was wearing a tattered and old black shirt with a red anarchy symbol on the front and faded blue jeans. He looked exactly like Blair. I didnt know weather to be scared or confused.
"What are you ding here Cain?" Blair asked sounding very pissed. The resemblance between then was remarkable.
"I was invited." He proclaimed.
"By who?"
"Well if my one and only brother is invited, then family is welcome. Hey who is the cutie?"
"Jasmin go inside" Blair said almost yelling to me.
"What you tell her what to do, that isnt very gentlemanly of you."
"Jaques take her inside." Blair said this time yelling. Jaques came up to me and held out his arm, I was to scared to go against what he was saying to I took his arm and we went inside.
