Sleepaway Camp
This was another film that I got when I was first getting into horror films. I also got this film at Bradlees and it cost 6 or 7 dollars. When I first opened it and began to watch it, I thought it was just going to be another low-budget, camp horror film from the 80's. But I was dead wrong. Although the film's plot does follow a basic story line it is the ending that will get you and remain with you FOREVER.
The story starts out with a father and his son and daughter swimming in a pond. They are run over by a boat. Next, we are shown a brother and a sister getting ready for a trip to camp for summer. Their mother is a bit weird, she even filled out their physicals...hmmm...howcome the family doctor didn't do it? Well they get to camp and get settled in. Andrea is picked on by the other girls in her cabin because she dosen't speak. This leads to some pretty funny parts in the film.
A series of deaths occur by an unknown assailiant. I cannot go into further detail about who is accused because then I would be giving to much away. But I will give a few examples on how some campers are killed: bees nest, axed, and scalded by boiling water.
These events occur throughout the film, which is why the storyline is basic. The best-part of this whole film, besides the guy wearing electrical tape for a moustache, or even the black guy's hair getting whiter at beginning of the film, is the ending of this cult-classic. This has got to be seen to believe. It is unlike anything thing that I have ever seen in any horror film. A definite must see film if you want something good, not gory, and funny.
