Army of Darkness
This film definitely does not follow the all out gore of the first two. This is the final step in the evolving of the Evil Dead series.
As we saw in the first film it was very serious with little or no humor. The next film we saw gore, but is was also mixed in with some comedy.
The third film, Army Of Darkness, is all out comedy with very little if any gore. I got this film at Target when it went on-sale. Yeah I know, I
am cheap, but my philosophy is, the cheaper the better. I believe the film was $6.99. Anyway onto the summary.
If you know the ending of the second film you know that our hero Ash has been sent back the Middle Ages. But if you remember the end of the second film you will remember that Ash was considered a hero. Well in the beginning of Army of Darkness he is captured and is sent to fight DEADITES. He does and wins. Since he has shown his strength and he wants to get back home, the elders of the village tell him how. This begins his quest insearch of the Necronomican (Book of the Dead). This leads him through the forest to the graveyard where the bok is kept. Ash ends up forgeting the words and awakens the army of the dead. Well he makes it back and the elders ask him if he said the words correctly so as not wake the dead. Ash admits he didn't say the words word for word. And the village is mad at him.
The rest of the film contains Ash rallying the towns-people together and fighting off the DEADITES.
