Abortion is a controversial issue in many countries.  Everyone has a different opinion on abortion and arguments are made all over the world.  The arguments are made between the pro-life group and the pro-choice group.  The pro-life group supports and argues that abortion should be stopped and the pro-choice group argues that abortion can be done if the women want it.  Abortion is defined as "willful termination of a fetus".  Women have known about abortions for many years, but pastern them in different ways.  There are various non-medical styles of abortion, which have been used in the past and are still used now.  Women in America fell  on their stomach so the fetus will die.  In some countries, if the mother is not allowed to have an abortion and the baby is born, she would bury it in the desert sand, leave the baby in a room to starve, or simply breaks its backbone and leaves it to die.  now, abortion is legal in many places.  Still there are countries that make abortions illegal and so the abortions done in that country are preformed illegally.  every continent and every country has a different opinion on this human rights issue and in different countries, different values and beliefs are held.  I want to tell both sides of the story.

This picture is obviously not a nice one but it is the effects of Salin.  That is one of the drugs used in Abortion.  Pictures like this make it difficult to decide between pro-choice and pro-life.
Chinese girls are being sold to Chinese men against their will, this leads to unwanted pregnancies and birth difficulties.  In America, one quatre of pregnancies are aborted.  There are about 1.6 million abortions performed each year.  Although there are two points of view, about 80% of people support the pro-life side.
Pro-Life:
One of the two groups is the pro-life group. There have been a lot of arguments between the two groups about when life starts.  The pro-life group generally say that life begins at conception (sperm meets egg).  the pro-choice group generally say that life begins when the fetus has the proper human shape.  So does this mean that when a woman is having an abortion, she is commiting murder?  The pro-life group believe that every living thing has a right to live.  If a woman has an abortion that could mean that she should go to jail.  Isn't it the mothers duty to protect her child?  When the fetus is taking shape it can react, move and maybe even think.  Also, with abortions becoming so frequent, there will be fewer and fewer people on this planet.  In china and India, only girl babies are aborted.  Boys are not aborted because they carry on the family name, work and take take care of their family.  The girls are considered worthless, and when they marry, their father has to pay a dowry to the husband's family.  The ultra-sound scanner shows the gender of the fetus.  that has become the deadliest weapon agains baby (fetus) girls in Asia.
Pro-Choice:
Some people believe that life starts when the baby can breathe and doesn't have to use the placenta or in short form, is not dependent on its mother.  The womans' rights group believe that it is every woman's choice whether or not she would like to have a baby.  Could a woman live with herself if she was raped and then must bare the child of the man who did such a terrible crime to her?  It would be almost inhumane to do that to a girl.  What if the baby was a criple, with not much time to live anyways, and the mother didn't want it?  Would it be looked after properly in an orphanage?  The mother might feel better knowing her baby is safe with the God of her choice, then worry everyday that it is getting abused on the streets or mistreated in an orphanage.  the fetuses may have a right to live, but shouldn't the mothers?  Their life, their choices, that is the basic concept.  Abortion is important in developing countries because when there isn't enough food in the family, the babies are dumped on the street.  But if there are abortions then there are no children on the street begging for money everyday like there are in Indonesia.  There aren't nice orphanages there, where kids can find a nice home.  Their is no education, no real or healthy or safe food.  They don't even get clothed.  So the question still to be answered by the pro-choice group, is whether that childs life will be worth it if the mother hadn't had an abortion

Personally I am Pro-choice mostly...I think that a woman should have the right to choose what is right for her own body and her own life.  It is just part of my culture to believe that the fetus is just a collection of cells...and no one ever gave cells rights.
