| Francisco: Lucky and J.R. That sounds good to me. J.R.: How about it, Larry? KatieBear: You wouldn't be changing your initials. You'd just be adding another "L" for "Lucky Lambertville Larry." I Love L.A.: La-la-la. If he gets enough initials in there, he could be our deck-the-halls-bear. Fa-la-la-la-la la-la-la-la. Amber: Fantastically Lucky Lambertville Larry, the Living, Loving, Laughing Leader. BettyBear: Fa-La-La-La La-La-La-La. That works! I Love L.A.: Deck the halls with bears of Mary ... Bitsy: I want to stay right here with Hightop's chin on the top of my head. Francisco: We don't have any halls. Miss Liberty Melody Barbara Hope Francis: <singing> "Twinkle, twinkle, little star." Marta Pearl Beary: What's that got to do with bears' names and decking hallways? Momma: It's the only song she knows. Be glad she can sing it on tune. Miss Liberty Melody Barbara Hope Francis: <singing> "Twinkle, twinkle, little star." Marta Pearl Beary: How long before we can remove her batteries? Momma: There's no need for that. Just ask her nicely to stop. Miss Liberty Melody Barbara Hope Francis: <singing> "Twinkle, twinkle, little star." Marta Pearl Beary: How about using her "off" switch? Momma: Just ask her nicely to stop. Miss Liberty Melody Barbara Hope Francis: <singing> "Twinkle, twinkle, little star." Marta Pearl Beary: <sigh> Thank you, Missy, for delighting us with another rendition of your favorite song. Would you deny our ears this pleasure for a little while so we can focus on the matter at hand without the distracting beauty of your warbling? Momma: Thank you, Marta. Have you thought about a career in politics? Miss Liberty Melody Barbara Hope Francis: You want me to stop singing? Marta Pearl Beary: Yes. <sigh> Please. Francisco: What is the "matter" that you want to focus on? Marta Pearl Beary: Lambertville Larry's new name. KatieBear: And we need to get the new group pictures taken and put up here. Lambertville Larry: I like my name. I don't want to change it. I just want another name that's short like J.R.'s. Momma: A nickname. Francisco: Like "L.L." or "Lucky." I Love L.A.: He looks like a "Lucky" to me. Momma: Larry, if you don't care for "L.L." or "Lucky," we can come up with more suggestions. Lambertville Larry: I think I like "Lucky" for a nickname because I was really lucky for my wish to go to California to come true, and I was really lucky to get to come here to the bookshelf, and I am really lucky to have all of you for friends and J.R. for my buddy. J.R.: Hurrah, hurrah, for Lucky! Does anybody else want a nickname? KatieBear: Not now, J.R. We have to get pictures taken because we have new members of the menagerie and some of the other members have been moved around. We need to show people where we all are now. Momma: Time for brushing and fluffing ... Marta Pearl Beary: And straightening hats. |
