-I will not be updating this site anymore; which probably won't affect anyone as the only people who've ever visited would have been the hardcore fans who seem to already be up on all the latest news (and who of course, don't ever think to tell me
about anything); not that we ever seem to get any news anymore...
I will leave anyone who's interested one last bit of news....according to an interview here the album has apparently now been pushed back (surprise, surprise) to April 09. Which will be a full TWO YEARS after "Stop Me" was released and OVER FIVE YEARS since "City Rules" was released... and that's assuming the album actually does get released then. That, frankly, is RIDICULOUS; fans should not have to wait that long for an album. The fact is, the "Fifth Season" album, which was COMPLETED AND MASTERED back in 2006 should have been released then (but will now apprently never be released); and the "Love And War" album, which was supposedly completed bar a couple of "finishing touches" at the START of 2008, should have been released by mid 2008 at the LATEST. Honestly, I'm not sure that anyone other than the die hard fans will even care when (if?) "Love And War" does get released...which doesn't bode well for Daniel, since he will probably need to sell a LOT of albums to recoup all the recording costs he has amassed over the past six (by then, seven) years.
Here's some advice for Daniel and Marlon:
1. RELEASE YOUR RECORDS. No records = no sales = no money + no fans.
2. Communicate more with your fans. Sporadic cryptic or "wacky" blogs on myspace are not good enough.
3. Get your website up and running. It is pathetic to see an artist signed to a major label who doesn't have a real site.
4. Come back to Australia to play some shows. You do have fans here who, unlike the UK, actually knew who you were before "Stop Me".
So; I may decide to use the site again at some point in time, but it doesn't really look like that's going to happen any time soon.

-Phrase's new video is now up at youtube. Check it out and keep a look out for his new album Burn It Down which I THINK will be out at the start of 2009 (email me if I'm wrong) which, of course, will feature a guest appearance from Daniel.

-"Chainsaw" remixes promo single added to discography
-American R&B singer Deemi (who has recorded a composition of Daniel's called "Higher", I don't know if it's the same song Daniel used to have on his myspace page or not) has posted a blog with some news on the release of her album..."THEY DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO WIT YOUR GIRL!!!" (translation: my album still has no definite release date). But she's still signed to Atlantic, according to her myspace page, so her album should get released eventually...

-It appears the commercial release of the "Chainsaw" vinyl single has been delayed... it was originally slated for May 26; but now has no specified release date although it is still expected to get a release...
-Not much else to report...apparently there was a rumour Dan had to get skin grafts (which is NOT true... I hadn't actually heard that one). And the album is expected to be finished soon (FINALLY!).

-Sadly, it appears we'll have to wait even longer for Dan's album to come out - the Daniel Merriweather Fan page on myspace (aka Trish) has reported that the album's release date has possibly been shifted back to September (and not May/June, as was originally reported...). As a result, we've now lost count of the amount of times the release date has been pushed back...it had better be worth the wait, Daniel!
-Daniel performed live at Londons AIR Studios with Estelle & Tawiah on Feb. 25 for iTunes Live London Sessions. (write up on the gig here, more details here.) For those of you (like myself) who didn't make it, iTunes Live: London Sessions is available for download at iTunes!
-A new track, "For Your Money" has been played on Mark Ronson's "Authentic Sh*t" program.
-A new track has been registered: "Why" (and it's NOT the same song Daniel wrote that was performed by Christine Anu). It's registed as being performed by Daniel so I'm guessing it'll probably be ending up on the album.

-A studio demo of "You Don't Know What Love Is" (the White Stripes song Daniel performed live on Mark Ronson's "Authentic Sh*t" radio show a while back) has been played on the show. You can listen to it here.
-A rough tracklisting for Ethical's album has been announced; it includes a (new?) remix of "Tied Up" (with Daniel; originally released on Juse's album). It's expected to be released on April 7.
-A song called "Higher" written by Daniel has been recorded by American R&B singer Deemi. It hasn't been released yet, so it's not known whether this is the same song that was previewed on Daniel's myspace page.
