Our mom is holding one of Lizzie’s first puppies. She is named Misty and she lives a few miles from us. She comes back every once in a while to visit us. This is our dad’s most common place to be. He can do almost anything on a computer. If he doesn’t know how, he can figure it out. He likes to play with his digital camera. Here is one of the results.
We live on about 4.5 acres with woods.
Sometimes we have critters come to visit us. Here is one such visitor who decided that an empty rabbit house that the cats were using was a great place to set up housekeeping. Our mom thought that Angel’s cat was in the hutch and stuck her hand in to pet her. Instead she felt much coarser hair and heard a growl. This poor little lady did not expect the intrusion or the flash pictures we took of her either. She decided to take up residence elsewhere after that. The raccoons like to get into our food and the suet blocks if our mom puts them in the wrong place. They love the summer time when the bush honeysuckle that grows profusely on the edges of our woods has its red berries. Dad keeps grubbing the bushes out, but they are constantly on the march to reclaim lost territory. We like to run in the bushes playing hide and seek. Sonja likes to chase sticks out there, and we all like to chase Sonja when she chases sticks. There are lots of other animals for us to bark at like old ground hog who lives over the bank, lots of rabbits, wild turkeys, deer, and pheasant who call or occasionally fly over, but don’t really stop to visit. The deer like to eat the fence line wild apples in late summer and fall. The rabbits like to sit just outside our fence and laugh at us, but every once in a while our mom will let Sonja and Leisha out to chase them off so they don’t get too bold. We also have a resident pair of red tailed hawks. They raise their babies in our back woods every summer. So we must be very careful about little puppies. They are just about baby rabbit sized and that could spell disaster. We have to be very watchful of our babies.

LEISHA Hello, I am the official Granddam of this menagerie. I am Great Pyrenees, and probably yellow lab and German shepherd. I look sort of like a yellow German shepherd, don’t you think? My family says I am about 14 years old. I sometimes have problems with my hips, they sort of shake, but since mom switched me to lamb and rice, it isn’t nearly as bad. My favorite of the shrimps is Sammie. My eyes get a bit gunky, and she helps me keep them clean. I don’t see so well any more, but if one of the others barks, then I know I better sound the alarm as well. The other day someone came to the front door and Mom answered it. He was looking for someone else, but he took one look at me and stepped back several steps even though I was on the other side of a glass door. Not sure why, I only wanted to see if he was a petting kind of person.
RED SONJA Hello. I am the next oldest canine member of our family. I am a Shetland sheep dog. I was born October 16, 1998. My mom says that other than liking to bark at cars and strangers, I am the next best-behaved dog in the family. I come when called, sit most of the time on command, and know about “IN” and “OUT” for doors. I am known occasionally to give the littler guys a boost. It is sort of fun seeing them go scooting. I do it on the run so that it sort of looks accidental. My newest best friend is BamBam. You can see him on his part of the page and with Lizzie.
The puppies are here. Puppy Playpen with pictures as they grow.

Lizzie BammBamm and Pebbles Puffer Billy Dragon is Lizzie and BammBamm's son who is staying with us. Pebbles had 2 little girls and they can be seen on the puppy page. One of her girls will be staying with us as well. Lillie her husband to be Pockets LILLIEPUT LITTLEBIT Mostly they call me Lillie. I am a Yorkie. I was born on May 25, 1999. I am somewhat of an escape artist going over fences and out through places they didn’t know were escape routes. I especially love to go for car rides. I get rather insulted if the car leaves without me. I am very good in the car, so they really don’t mind taking me. I don’t try to jump out in the wrong places or go potty in the car or bark much. My favorite place to sleep is in the sunshine in the bay window now that they have it fixed so I can get up there. There is this big furry blanket thing up there so it is nice and soft and the sun feels soooo good. I may not be able to make it up there much longer because I am getting pretty big. Sometimes I get kind of grumpy with the others right now. She now has a new husband although he is a bit young yet, being only about 8 weeks old. His name is Pockets because that is about the size he is currently.
MITZIE This is Mitzie, Gram and Gramp’s dog. She is part Chihuahua and part Shih Tzu and lives in Texas. She was really warming up to Rita, but Sammie never really gave her a chance. Maybe we just weren’t there long enough. She is kind of shy to begin with. In the Mobile Home Park where she lives, she is called Killer by her friends. MUNCHIE and SCOOTER This is Munchie. It is really short for Munchkin, but she is really good at munching on ground moles. Munchie is an Austrailian Silky Terrier. She lives with Janet, our mom’s cousin along with Scooter T. Larsen in Michigan. Her real name is Lady Byte, but everyone pretty much forgot that. We have an acre of fenced yard to play in with Scooter. This winter the snow was so high, we could almost jump over the 4 foot chain link fence.
Scooter is Jack Russell terrier and sometimes a real terror. Munchie has to work pretty hard to keep him in line with a little help from Janet. Scooter has two speeds; very fast and stop. Here is Scooter in his stop mode.
This is Munchie's child Luke. Here are some pictures of his family. Luke is 1 year old this month.Luke is another son of Cookie so he is 1/2 Silkie Terrier and 1/2 Long Haired Chihuahua. He sure turned out pretty. He only weighs about 5 pounds. He was the smallest of a litter of 5. This is Munchies only effort at procreation, but she was a good mother. Now she is retired. He is here with his mom and dad.
SADIE This is our friend Sadie. She is an Australian Blue Healer. She lives with Mom’s brother and some horses. She is kind of bossy, but then she has to make sure the horses behave. We had fun up at her place in Michigan rolling in the horse manure. Needed baths after that, we did. To get Sadie to hold still and stop playing with us Mom had to have Dad to help keep her still.
