As she said this she slipped into his mind with ease and found she need not be there he was hers completely, he had always loved her but now he could not resist her. He said he would leave his wife he had already had the anullment papers drawn a month ago, he would sign tomorrow and that would be that. Mercedes told him to go to the car and she would be there in a moment. Corte's wife stared in disbelief, she wanted to grab the fire poker and ram it through that sluts head and rip off his balls, but she couldn't move. All while Mercedes had talked to Corte' she never took her eyes off the blonde , she had had a sort of power with her eyes before but now was so different if she told the blonde to stand there til she rotted ,Mercedes knew the blonde would. Mercedes had initally planned to drain the woman but looking into her soul knew that to let the blonde live was so much more cruel and so she would after a small drink to make the blonde forget what she had seen, always it would be just on the edges of her memory . Mercedes went to the car where Corte' was and told him what she was, he was not afraid but said he would spend his days watching Mercedes to make sure she was safe, and he did one full day. He signed the papers and got the annulment .He also did another thing Mercedes had asked him to do for her incase anything should ever happen to him, he needed someone to leave his amassed fortune to. She suggested he leave it to her and her sister, which he thought was one of the best ideas he had ever heard, so he had those papers filled out and signed too . By the time she woke Corte' had signed his entire estate and all its value to Mercedes Chantel and Paige Marie Jean- LaVeau . Making them, should they outlive him very wealthy indeed . Corte tried to get "Mers" to stay and talk to him, but she simply left there was much to do and she would spend most of the night waiting for her sister.
Mercedes took a light meal then went to the shack where she had buried Paige. She waited for near 31/2 hours before she was ready to call it a night and go truly feed, she was about to leave when she felt a gaze on her, she turned and saw a figure though dirt covered and ashen , she recognized Paige. Paige walked over to her and Mercedes handed her some fresh clothes told her to put them on. Paige complied , then the two left went to Paige's House. Paige was as distorted with the time difference as Mercedes had been even though it had only been one night, but Mercedes was here to help her if she could, Paige showered and came downstairs.Corte was fawning over Mercedes as usual, when he looked up and saw her sister, Mercedes instantly knew why she had kept Corte' alive. She smiled as she saw Paige creep over to Corte' and sink her newly acquired Fangs into his neck, he looked at Mercedes and uttered one word, "Love" Mercedes smiled and said "You left me married another and kept her as your wife even when you knew I had returned, your search was not long enough I was never far away".Mercedes was no longer human she knew that at least. Mercedes knew that any feelings that she ha held for Corte were as dead as he was now, she knew she did not feel love nor cared that he died, she could not fathom why she had loved him at one point. |
