Candidates desirous of admission into the Post-graduate Degree and diploma
courses run in the ab ove mentioned colleges shall have to appear at a
competitive test.

Eligibility : (Only Indian Citizen can appear at the Test)
Candidates who have passed the M.B.B.S., Examination from any Medical
College of Bihar.
Candidates who have passed the M.B.B.S., Examination from any other Medical
College which is included in the schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act,
will also be eligible provided that upto the last date of submission of
application they fulfil any of the following criteria.
Either of the Parents of Husband must be permanent resident of Bihar.
Either of the parents of husband (in case of female candidate) or the
candidate himself/herself is in the service of Govt. of Bihar.
Either of the parents of husband is an officer of I.A.S./I.P.S./Indian
Forest Service Cadre allotted to Bihar State or either of parents/husband is
in defence services posted in Bihar at the time of filling the application.
N.B.: (a) A candidate who claims eligibility under 2(i) above must furnish a
certificate from the DISTRICT MAGISTRATE or CIVIL S.D.O. only of the area
concerned in the following proforma in his/her father/mother (in case father is
anot alive) husband. Certificate issued by any officer other than District
Magistrate/Civil S.D.O. will not be entertained and lead to rejection of his/her
application.

(b) A candidate claiming eligibility under 2(ii) to (iii) above must furnish
an employment certificate from the employer or Head of the Officer/Department in
respect of the candidates father/mother/husband or his/her own as the case
may be.
Candidates must have obtained full registration with the Bihar State
Council of Medical Registration. Candidate must complete his/her 12 months of
house job latest by 31st March, 1992. Candidate who are not
expected to complete to his/her 12 months of house job by 31st
March, 1992 are not eligible to appear at the test.
Examination :-
The medium of Examination will be English.
There will be common examination consisting of two papers for all the
subjects & courses.
The examination shall be of the standard of M.B.B.S. examination and shall
cover all the subjects of M.B.B.S. course.
There will be three sets of question papers marked A B C
wherein questions remaining the same, but serial number of question will be
variable.
There shall be two papers of two hourse duration each containing 150
multiple choice questions. The number of questions for these will be
distributed approximately as given below :-

Each question shall carry for marks which will be awarded for each correct
answer. One mark will be deducted for each incorrect answers. Zero mark will
be given for the question not answered. More than one answers indicated
against a question will be deemed as incorrect answer and one mark will be
deducted for every such answer.
Determination of interse merit of candidates obtaining equal marks in the
examination. In case of two or more candidates obtaining equal marks in
P.G.M.A.T., the interse merit of such candidates shall be determined in order
of preferences as under:
Candidates obtaining higher marks in Paper-II of the test.
Candidates obtaining higher marks in Final M.B.B.S. Part-II average
marks will taken into consideration.
According to age, older getting preference over younger.
VI. Selection :
Candidate will mention only six courses in the application form according
to his/her choice and housemanship eligibility.
Merit list will be prepared on the basis of the marks obtaining in the
P.G.M.A.T. and the choicie of subject/course and institution will be given on
merit-cum-choice basis as indicated by the candidate in the Application form
provided the candidate fulfils other criteria laid down in the prospectus.
The candidate has to secure at least 50% marks (40% in case of SC/ST) in
the P.G.M.A.T. to be eligible for admission in any course.
No weightage will be given for rural or any other services and only mark
obtained in the test will be taken into consideration.
VII. Training : All successful candidates will have to get themselves
registered with Bihar Council of Medical Registration before admission
Successful candidates will be registered by the Universities concerned.
Registered candidates will have to undergo whole time training of two years of
M.D./M.S. course and one year for Diploma course from the date of training
period will be of two years for such candidates who are admitted after
securing M.S. (General Surgery/Orthopaedic Surgery) degree but four years for
such candidates who are admitted after passing M.B.B.S.
The required housemanship qualification must be in the following capacity
in hospital/Institution approved and recognised by the Medical Council of
India and the Universities of Bihar.
No fresh admission or readjustment will be done three months after the 1st
admission.
Admitted candidate who later on is adjusted to his/her higher choice of
course or opt for any different course shall automatically forfeit his/her
claim to continue in the previous course for which he/she was originally
registered. His/her name shall be struck off from the previous Course and
his/her registration for that course be cancelled.
M.D. (Genraral Medicine) or 12 months housemanship in clinical
D.T.M. & H/D.T.C.D. subjected of which at least 6 mounth
shall be in General medicine.
M.D. (Paediatrics) or D.C.H 12 mounths of which 6 mounth shall be subjected
of which 6 mounth shall be in general
M.D. (P.S.M) 12 Mounths housemanship in clinical subjectes of which 6
mounts shall be in General Medicine.
OR
6 Mounths housemanship in General Medicine and 6 mount work as Anti- Malaria
or Anti - Filaria officer or Health officer or Demonstrator in P.S.M. or work in
school Health service Paediatrics/Block Maternity and Child Health Centre
OR
One year as demonstrator of Tutor in P.S.M
OR
One year service in factctories sor mines
M.D (Dermatology )S.T.D. & 12 Mounth hosemanship in clinical subject of
which atleast 6
D.M.R.D mounth shall be dermatology, S.T.D. and Leprosy.
M.D. (Radiodiganosis) or 6 Mounth hosemanship in Radio diagnosis and 6
D.M.R.D months is any clinical subjected or 12 mounth in Radiodiagnosis or in
the clinical subjects
M.D. (Radiotherpapy) or 6 Mounth hosemanship in Radio therapy
D.M.R.T. and 6 mounth is any clinical sunbject or 12 mounth hosemanship if
Radiothrerapy of or in clinical subjects.
M.S. (General Surgery) 12 mounth hosemanship in clinical subject of which
at least 6 mounth shall be in General surgery.
