- The Physics Week has been a great success. Click here to check the program. Check also the pictures of the events.
- Various activities will be taking place at various High Schools in the Constantine area. In addition, a seminar on the teaching of Physics for the benefit of physics High School teachers will take place at Souk Ahras during the period of 10-12 May 2005, in coordinatio n with the Department of Education of the Wilaya of Mila, thanks to the initiative of Mr. Abdelhafidh Lamara, Education inspector at Mila, who has been instrumental in planning for it and organizing it. Several members of our Physics Depart. are participating as lecturers.
- Several conferences were given by members of our Committee ( Dr A.Nouiri and J.Mimouni) at Msila University on the 25 and 26 April 2005 at Mohammed Boudiaf University at Msila, both for the celebration of the twentieth anniversary of its foundation as well as for the World Year of Physics 2005 activities. There was a large and responsive attendance from both the students and the faculty.
- Lectures on: Physics and Astrophysics for Pedestrians , were given on May 23 at Annaba University for the University community in coordination with the Physics Departement.
- A program on RMC Moyen Orient at Paris was broadcasted on the Year of Physics with Algerian physicists from Canada, Sharjah and Algeria. One of the YP05 committee members from our university was among the participants. It was a one hour special issue of the Mawassim radio program hosted by Fayez Maqdessi.
- A Seminar on Nanotechnology on June 25, organized by Dr.A.Nouiri. It has for special guess Prof. N. Tabet who gave a keynote address on: Nanotechnology : From Feymann's vision to the STM/AFM Invention. Prof. Tabet from the Surface Science Laboratory, Physics Department at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Saudi Arabia, was previously teaching at our University and has been for many years its rector.
- A National Seminar on Physics at Mentouri University later in 2005. More on it later.
- The Exposition: "Petite Mosaique de la Physique" has been hosted by Mentouri University in early February 2006. It is a nice "hands on" kind of Expo dealing with the various aspects of Physics. This Expo has been realized by the "Centre-Sciences at Orléans", and the French Physical Society. It will then move westwards to various Unversities during the year 2006. The touring of the Expo is under the supervision of Mentouri University (J.M. as coordinator) in coordination with the various French Cultural Centers for the logistics and support (Youssama Chaabane as coordinator for the CCF- Constantine and the SCAC of Algiers).
