With Barnstoneworth Athletic looking almost certain to stitch up the points against a team called Bye, this humble scribe switched allegiances briefly from the workhorses of Athletic to the show ponies of United. In a clash of the Titans between Kinross and Barnstoneworth United, it was expected that the match would be spectacular. Unfortunately all that Barnstoneworth added to the spectacle was providing 11 obstacles for Kinross to go around to score their 6 goals.

Captain Phil Hodges maintained his fury enough to comment. "I've had to ask all the guys to give back their match payments after that performance. We're planning to use the money to buy orange paint and paint everyone. They should make wonderful training markers."

It was a day in which the students showed themselves to be the masters and we can only now wonder at the farcical tag of past masters that might have been given to the Barnstoneworth players. Neville Davitt rolled in his grave.

Barnstoneworth proved to be ineffective up front and collapsed woefully at the back. The villain from last week again assumed the role notable in his absence. Warwick Baines is serving out a suspension and while his presence was unlikely to bring victory it may have brought a more respectable score of , say, 5-0.

Barnies tried a couple of combinations up front as Jim and Jim provided no joy and the feted South American connection of Joses and Joses also missed opportunities. Three goals in each half highlighted the uniformity of the ineptness of Barnies and the superiority of Kinross.

"Our guys were really pumped for this game after joining other teams at the top of the table" said Hodges. Well clearly the glory boys became the gory boys as the L was needed to signify the loss.

Amazingly there was a positive for Barnstoneworth in seeing the first appearance for the year from Aiden Sugden who came through his brief stint with no troubles on his ankle but like the team he has a sore backside from being put soundly upon it.
