It seems to me that psychiatrists are incredibly unimaginative. They always seem to blame the patient's parents for everything. Similarly, Freud always seemed to blame absolutely everything on the Oedipus Complex. "It's because of that the world is round!" Okay, that's a slight exaggeration, but I don't really know of anything Freud has ever said that he didn't refer back to the Oedipus Complex. Mother Fucker.
The best way to undermine someone's performance of anything is to tell them they weren't loud enough. Everytime I did anything at primary school, the teachers always told me to speak louder. And people wonder now why I don't talk more.

Hideo Kojima, the writer and director of the Metal Gear games has a very British sense of humour, even though he's Japanese and, as far as I know, has never lived in Britain, nor has a particular interest in British humour. Anyway, the evidence of this is in subtle jokes in the Metal Gear games. For starters, he calls the main character Solid Snake, which is full of innuendo. Then there's the line in Metal Gear Solid; "several pounds of MUF (pronounced "muff" but is actually meant to mean Material Unaccounted For in this case) are reported each year". There's also Ocelot's "well greased chamber" speech in the first boss fight. And, in MGS2, Solid Snake's brother, Solidus, has an eye patch-- One Eyed Snake gag here.

Religion and politics are very similar. I don't believe in either. They both start too many wars.
There's this Chinese proverb that goes "If you choose a job you enjoy, you will never work a day in your life". Well, I have a saying too: "If I choose to be me, I will never work a day in my life." And I never have.

I was wondering last night why people put Christmas cards on top of the T.V. I never bother doing that, because they always fall off. But I realised, in the old days, people probably put their cards on a mantle piece, which people thought were integral to a house. But now, T.V. has overtaken the mantle piece as the most looked at thing in houses, so people put cards there to be looked at. This is actually well obvious, come to think of it.

I saw a sign today. It had the phrase "Reformed Church" on it. This is a common phrase that confuses me. Why would a church need to reform? Surely it is the religion that defines what needs reforming. And who actually reforms these churches anyway?

Why are all funeral services family owned? They all have "& Son" at the end of their names. Except the Co-op ones.

What is the point of the phrase "unexploded bomb"? If the bomb was exploded, it would no longer be a bomb. And everything around it would no longer be what it was.

It's amazing how our society makes up so many lies. Here are some examples of things that are pure fiction: people who watch Blue Peter; stupid men that are in tampon adverts; people that like pop music; anything Steven Horgan says; Peter Stringfellow and people who like You've Been Framed. I think these things are made up to scare children.
