The mission of the Mendon-Upton Special Education Parent Advisory Council (PAC) is to facilitate understanding, respect, and appropriate education for all children, while supporting families and educators who are also striving for this goal.

News:

MCAS Participation (Spring 2007 Update) - Mass DOE Requirements for the Participation of Students with Disabilities in MCAS, includes information about standard accomodations. (Requires Adobe PDF Reader, download free here)

MCAS-Alt - Alternate Assessment. MCAS-Alt consists of a portfolio of materials (such as work samples, instructional data, videotapes, and other supporting info) collected annually by the teacher and student.

IDEA 2004, the reauthorized Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, became effective July 1, 2005. The new regulations regarding implementation of IDEA 2004 were released on August 3, 2006. Visit the WrightsLaw.com web site for more information.
