VAN-122  Splanchnology  (1+1 credit hours)

2 year B.V.Sc & A.H

Third Semester - VAN-211 (Histology & Embryology) - 2+2 credit hours

Fourth Semester - VAN-221 (Applied Anatomy) - 0+2 credit hours

Discussions:

Anatomy- Study of biological structures

Veterinary Anatomy- deals with the principal structures of domestic animals and birds.

Generally this subject is studied on comparative basis.

Veterinary Anatomy may be studied by the following methods:

1. Systemic Anatomy- According to system

2. Topographic Anatomy or Regional Anatomy- Based on the regions.

3. Radiographic Anatomy- Based on the radiological view

4. Clinical Anatomy- Based on the clinical examination of individual case

5. Comparative Anatomy- Comparison of different organs, system, species etc.

6. Surgical Anatomy- Based on the surgery techniques.

Based on the syllabus-It divided into 3 main groups.

1. Gross Anatomy- Naked eyes

2. Microanatomy or Histology

3. Developmental Anatomy  or Embryology

Divisions of Gross Anatomy:

Osteology- Study of bones

Arthrology- Study of joints

Myology- Study of muscles

Splanchnology- Study of visceral organs

Neurology- Study of nervous system

Angiology- Study of blood vessels and heart

Aesthesiology- Study of sense organs
