Aidan

Name: Aidan Tchykov
Standing At: The Twisted Fate
Bond: None
Age: 37
Gender: Male
Race: Pheonix-Shifter
Height: 5'9"
Skin: Pale
Build: Scrawny
Hair: Pale brown, short, straight
Eyes: Murky, Pale Green
Family: Theresa (33, wife, human), Lilian (9, daughter, half-pheonix), Mathew (2, son, half-pheonix)
Appearance: Having spent so much time crawling around in the dark, sunless tunnels of his maze, Aidan has lost nearly all the color in his skin, leaving him waxy pale, so much so that many of his veins are clearly visible under the tight film of his skin. His eyes are pale, murky green, nearly as devoid of color as the rest of him, and his hair limp, flaxen brown. Surprisingly, his hair is short, very messy, but short. He uses what he can to cut it, fearing that keeping it long might be deterious to his health. Not only would it consume more of the few nutrients he's alloted, but it could also get caught in one of the...traps.

Speaking of food...Aidan is nearly emaciated. He gets what he can, but acquiring food can sometimes be just as dangerous as not eating all together. Unfortunately, dying of starvation would simply cause him to go up in flames and return to the game as a younger, less dexterous self. So, he's scrawny, but he's not dead. Aidan is also covered in scars, from head to toe. Most of which are nothing more than jagged white lines across his skin, barely visible against his already too-pale complexion, but there's more than one spot where the skin is pulled tight over where a chunk of it had been taken out. He's missing half of his left middle finger and the top of his left ring finger, as well as the top half of his right big toe. And he's glad those are the only bits he's missing. He'll get them back, of course, and his scars will disappear, when he's once again reborn.

As a phoenix, Aidan is swanlike and fiery-bright, but his feathers have dimmed of late, and many are broken and twisted. His eyes are the same pale-green, and his feathers long and red, muted a little, from the darkness.

Personality:

Before being stuck in the maze, Aidan was a gentle, ordinary man, of few surprises. He lived a fairly ordinary life, living day by day in the same massive swirl of same-ness as everyone else. He loved his children, and was a daddy to them. Not a father, not a dad, not a sire of offspring, a daddy. His children mean more to him than anything else in the world, and one of his greatest fears was a divorce between him and his wife that would cause him to lose his children. He never had a good relationship with his wife, but he loved her, and he took care of her, and he doesn't want to leave her or lose her. He's never been a terribly honest man, and he's bad at keeping promises, but he's never cheated on his wife and he doesn't often go behind her back. He was a good, ordinary citizen.

Since the maze Aidan has truly become a pale semblance of himself. The few...living beings he comes across are subjected to a feral, mindless sort of violence. He kills his enemies slow and hard, by whatever means he can. Because he misses death and blood, and because he's frightened that if he doesn't do away with them, they'll do away with him. If there are other people in the maze (and he has stumbled across a few in his wanderings) they don't last long. Even though he can't truly die, he doesn't want to be reborn. It would be too hard and too dangerous for him to be a child in the maze. He wouldn't survive, so he does whatever he must to keep himself from needing that.

Aidan is quiet and nervous now, much different than the loving, high-spirited young man he was before the maze. He's suspicious and superstitious, slinking around the walls, distrustful of everything that moves, everything that might be hidden around the corner. He doesn't even trust himself anymore. All he wants is to get out of the maze, but he doesn't know how to do that, so he does the next best thing. He survives.
